A convicted rapist will not be moved to San Luis Obispo County after he is released from prison on parole later this year.
Earlier this month, the Auburn Journal newspaper reported that a Placer County judge ruled that work could start toward temporarily housing Tibor Karsai in a mobile home next to a San Luis Obispo Sheriff's Officefacility.
The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department was notified today that Placer County Judge James Garbolino is no longerconsidering San Luis Obispo as an option. According to a press release issued today Sheriff Ian Parkinson the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office and County Counsel in objecting to placing Karsai in a mobile home near the Sheriff’s office.
Parkinson argued that it was too close to the Juvenile Services Center. Karsai has been in state prison since he was convicted of raping a 16-year-old girl in Auburn 32 years ago.
