Three employees at Atascadero State Hospital were attacked by patients in two separate incidents on Sunday and Monday, officials there confirmed on Tuesday.
The first attack occurred Sunday when a patient reportedly assaulted a nurse, ASH spokesman Craig Dacus said. The employee was given first aid and returned to work following the incident, he added.
The second attack occurred Monday when another patient reportedly assaulted a nurse and a psychiatric technician. Those employees were treated in the hospital's medical wing and also returned to work, Dacus said.
No arrest was made in either incident, and the investigations are ongoing.
Dacus did not disclose the employees' names, their injuries or where at the hospital the assaults took place.
Atascadero State Hospital is a high-security state hospital in southeast Atascadero that treats mentally ill inmates from California's correctional system and other violent offenders.
