Normally, we handle corrections on the second page of the front news section. But there are rare instances when we need to go beyond that, such as now.
For background, we assigned a staff photographer to cover the Junior Livestock Auction at the Mid-State Fair several weeks ago. It is a daunting assignment, as there are scores of young people from throughout San Luis Obispo County showing and selling their animals. The action moves fast, and our photographer raced to maintain proper identifications.
But, unfortunately, when we published a photo on the front page the next morning, we had it wrong.
Today we try to make it right: Meet Connor Herrera of Paso Robles, whom we named in our caption but did not show in our photo, and Tyeler Pomi of Atascadero, whose photo we published but without his name (and yes, that is how he spells his first name).
Never miss a local story.
We apologize to them and their families, and hope this publication is a better clip for their scrapbooks.
