Paso Robles police announced today a new online reporting system that allows people to file certain types of reports, including minor theft, vehicle burglary and lost property, through the department’s website.
Police have offered an online reporting system for a few years but have upgraded the system to one that will be more user-friendly and integrates with the department’s records management system, according to a news release.
The city has contracted with San Ramon-based software company Coplogic, Inc., to provide the software, installation and maintenance. The $25,000 cost will be covered through a state grant, according to a staff report written in April by Paso Robles Police Chief Lisa Solomon.
Reports can be filed anytime and a temporary copy of the report can be printed when it is submitted. The reporting party will receive an email with a final copy of the report after it has been reviewed by police.
Reports can be filed online at http://www.prcity.com/government/departments/police/online-filing/start-report.html.
