Cal Poly’s Graphic Communication Department has hired two new faculty members and an information technology staff member, said Harvey Levenson, the department’s head.
Colleen Twomey has worked in the strategic business unit of MacDermid, which specializes in flexographic printing plate materials for the packing industry. She’ll specialize in print and packaging trends at Cal Poly
Howard Vogl had been teaching digital printing technology and personalized communication at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Vogl will focus on prepress and digital imaging.
The department also has hired Eric Johnson as an information technology specialist. His professional experience ranges from computer support and theater technology to video production and music recording. Most recently, he helped produce “New Spice: Study like a Scholar, Scholar,” a popular YouTube video parodying Old Spice commercials.
