The intersection of South 10th Street and Longbranch Avenue in Grover Beach will be closed for two weeks while construction crews complete street and sidewalk improvements.
Other upgrades will be made on Longbranch Avenue between South 10th and South 14th streets, including pedestrian and bicycle improvements near Grover Beach Elementary School.
The intersection was closed starting Monday through Aug. 1.
A combination of state Safe Routes to School grant funds, federal Community Development Block Grant funds, local transportation, redevelopment and city general funds are paying for the project.
The City Council awarded the $309,259 project this month to R. Simons Construction Inc., based on the Nipomo Mesa.
