The La Quinta Inn in Paso Robles has plans for expansion.
Developers Arciero & Sons were recently granted approval to add 37 rooms to the 100-room hotel at Buena Vista Drive and Highway 46 East.
Architects Pults & Associates have been hired to work on the $3 million project, said Ray Peloso, chief financial officer for Arciero & Sons.
“It seems to be that most of the hotel space in this town is pretty well taken up, and so it’s definitely needed,” Peloso said.
Never miss a local story.
The addition will stand as a separate building on the property, and the rooms will be larger and may feature fireplaces and efficiency kitchens.
“If people want to stay longer than one day or don’t want to spend money to go out to dinner, they can have a little dinner at the hotel,” Peloso said.
It’s unclear, however, when the project will begin, he said. Management wants to take a closer look at economic conditions before making a decision.
“We’re trying to evaluate the situation and decide on the proper time,” he said. “It could be this year or next year.”
