July 15 is the deadline to submit an application and logo design for the city of Atascadero’s centennial celebration in 2013.
The logo must “evoke the uniqueness of community,” according to the Atascadero Centennial Steering Committee.
Some inspirations for the art include ties to the vision of Atascadero founder E.G. Lewis, the city’s historical roots in printing and agriculture as well as general quality of life.
The design is to be used in promotional materials such as clothing, stationary, advertisements and wine glasses.
The steering committee will evaluate all entries and choose a candidate. The artist chosen will receive an honorarium of $750.
Those interested must submit their name, address, phone number and email address in addition to a personal biography, references and a narrative describing the inspiration and process for the submitted design.
The design must be submitted in both physical and digital forms. That includes three print copies on glossy white paper as well as a .pdf or .jpg file on a compact disc.
