County Supervisors Frank Mecham and Paul Teixeira will headline a July 13 fundraising barbecue in Atascadero that is called Take Back the County. Two Atascadero representatives, Mayor Tom O’Malley and Councilwoman Roberta Fonzi, also will speak.
O’Malley has been widely rumored as a possible candidate to run against incumbent county Supervisor Jim Patterson in next year’s elections. They both live in the 5th District.
Teixeira represents the South County on the Board of Supervisors, and Mecham, a former Paso Robles mayor, represents much of the North County.
The fundraiser, sponsored by a group known as A Better Atascadero, will begin at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6:30 p.m. at the Taft Barn.
