Cayucos. 5 a.m. Sand-sculpture contest, pancake breakfast, parade, barbecue, bingo, followed by fireworks at dusk at the pier. Downtown. 995-1200.
Morro Bay. Noon. A day of activities, bike parade, food, drink, music, followed by a fireworks at dusk. Tidelands Park, south end of Embarcadero. 772-4467.

The following services will be affected by Independence Day on Monday:
All libraries and federal, state, county, city and community service district offices are closed. The San Luis Obispo City/County library will close Tuesday, as well.
Cal Poly’s Kennedy Library is closed through Monday.
Post offices are closed Monday, with no delivery, except Express Mail.
Cal Poly and Cuesta College are closed Monday.
The Tribune offices are closed Monday.
