Latest readings taken by automated stations operated by the National Weather Service show a major temperature difference from the coast to the inland North County.
Shortly after 3 p.m., the temperature at Morro Bay Harbor was 56 degrees. Meanwhile, at 3:34 p.m., it was 110 degrees on the northwest side of Paso Robles.
Depending on where one stood in Atascadero, it was 84 degrees (on the windier westside) or 94 degrees (on the calmer eastern end).
Arroyo Grande registered at 90 degrees, but Pismo Beach was 65.
Never miss a local story.
Such temperature variations are due to the cool ocean air immediately found at the coast -- and the lack of it inland.
