The CHP says the checkpoint will be set up on southbound Highway 1 at Fraddy Lane.
The CHP will conduct a driver's license and sobriety checkpoint in Pismo Beach tonight, said officer J.W. Townsen.
Never miss a local story.
The checkpoint will start at 7 p.m. and continue to 1 a.m. Sunday. Townsen said all vehicles will be checked, traffic volume permitting.
The CHP will disclose the location of the checkpoint around 5 p.m.
"Checkpoints tend to reduce the number of drinking drivers on the road, even though arrest totals do not rise dramatically," said Townsen.
