As if on cue, the weather is heating up for the Fourth of July weekend, with daytime temperatures well over 100 degrees expected for most of the North County.
The National Weather Service forecasts a high in Paso Robles today of 102 degrees. That will jump to 106 degrees Sunday and Monday. Atascadero will be 97 degrees today, and then heat up to 101 Sunday and Monday.
In San Luis Obispo, meanwhile, daytime highs will be in the mid-80s through Independence Day, and coastal areas will stay in the 70s.
Overnight lows for the county will remain mild, cooling into the 60s and upper 50s.
“Hot. Not really much else to say beyond what’s been advertised for several days now,” the NWS said.
The cause is a strong high-pressure area across the Southwest that has squashed any fog from the coastline.
