Alternative rock band Counting Crows will perform this summer at the California Mid-State Fair, fair organizers announced today.
Lead singer Adam Duritz and his bandmates join an entertainment lineup that includes pop sensation Selena Gomez, country rocker Kid Rock, pop-rock group Maroon 5 and country acts Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum and Sugarland.
Originally from Berkeley, Counting Crows found success in 1993 with the debut album “August and Everything After,” featuring the hit single “Mr. Jones.”
Other hits include “Hanginaround,” “Big Yellow Taxi” and the Academy Award-nominated song “Accidentally in Love,” heard on the soundtrack of 2004’s “Shrek 2.”
Counting Crows perform July 24 in the fair’s Main Grandstand Arena. Tickets are $25 to $70 and go on sale June 16.
The California Mid-State Fair runs July 20 through July 31 in Paso Robles.
