The Grover Beach Police Department conducted a sting operation targeting motorists Tuesday that resulted in 13 citations for failure to yield to pedestrians and two citations issued to unlicensed drivers.
The operation took place between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and focused on motorists who failed to yield to pedestrians in marked crosswalks, according to department officials.
In addition to monitoring routine pedestrian crossings, a plainclothes officer crossed marked crosswalks to determine if motorists would yield.
His work resulted in the 13 citations of those who failed to give way.
The two drivers without licenses had their vehicles impounded.
