A formation of World War II and other military aircraft will perform flyovers during Memorial Day ceremonies held Monday at 11 a.m. in Paso Robles, Templeton, Atascadero and Santa Margarita cemeteries, with a 4 p.m. flyover at Cayucos. It’s sponsored by the Estrella Warbirds Museum of Paso Robles, the American Legion, and AMVETS National Service Foundation. The Freedom Flight pilots, crew members and owners of these historic aircraft are all veterans dating from WWII to the present, organizers said. The planes may also be viewed during visiting hours at the museum’s Hangar One exhibit, 4251 Dry Creek Road, Paso Robles.
Ceremony at 11 a.m. at the Arroyo Grande Cemetery, 895 El Camino Real, Arroyo Grande. Hosted by The Five Cities Veterans Of Foreign Wars Post 2829 and the Arroyo Grande American Legion Post 136.

Ceremony at 1 p.m. at The Faces of Freedom Veterans Memorial, adjacent to the Atascadero Lake Park and Charles Paddock Zoo on Highway 41 West. Hosted by the Veterans Memorial Foundation. Followed by a community barbecue and ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery.
Ceremony at 11 a.m. at the Atascadero Cemetery, off Highway 41 at 1 Cemetery Hill Road, Atascadero. Hosted by Atascadero Veterans of Foreign Wars. Speakers and laying of a wreath. Potluck luncheon to follow at VFW Post 2814, 9555 Morro Road, Atascadero.
Ceremony at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Building parking lot, 1000 Main St., Cambria. Cambria Chorale and others to sing, talk by Greg Sanders about project to place memorial bricks around base of Cambria military service flag stand, and presentation of resolutions honoring California National Guard Honor Guard Team 11. Followed by barbecue sponsored by the Sons of the American Legion and the Legion Auxiliary.
Memorial Day Wreath Placement at 3 p.m. at Cayucos Pier. Two dignitaries will carry the wreath to the end of the pier.
“Respect and Honor” Ceremony at 11 a.m. at Los Osos Valley Funerals, Cremations & Memorial Park. 2260 Los Osos Valley Road, Los Osos. Lunch provided by the Kiwanis Club of Bay Osos. 528-1500.
Ceremony at 11 a.m. at Paso Robles District Cemetery, 45 Nacimiento Lake Drive. Guest speaker county Supervisor Frank Mecham. Gun salute by honor guards of the American Legion Post 50 and VFW Post 10965.
Celebration at 11 a.m. at Templeton District Cemetery, 100 Templeton Road. Featuring guest speaker Col. Barbara Nuismer, commander of Camp Roberts; Estrella Warbirds missing man formation flyover; color guard presentation; and salute. San Luis Obispo
“Memorial Day Veterans Remembrance” service, co-sponsored by American Legion Post 66 and Wheeler/Smith Mortuary. 11 a.m. San Luis Obispo Cemetery, 2890 South Higuera St., San Luis Obispo. Raising of the flag, the “Gettysburg Address” and flag folding ceremony. Barbecue to follow from noon to 5 p.m. at Moose Lodge, 1130 Orcutt Road. $5 or free to military members, law enforcement and firefighters.
Ceremony at 10:45 a.m. at Santa Margarita Cemetery, one mile east of Santa Margarita on Highway 58.
Ceremony at 11 a.m. at Pismo Beach Pier. Keynote speaker John O’Connell, Marine Corps veteran and Pismo Beach resident. Presentation of colors, MIA/POW honors, laying of a wreath and a reading of “unknown soldier.”
