The 28th Annual Strawberry Festival, featuring entertainment, craft booths and strawberry treats of all kinds, is set for Saturday and Sunday in the Village of Arroyo Grande.
The event is the Village Improvement Association’s primary fundraiser. It includes two carnival areas, a Strawberry Stampede walk/run, ethnic foods and performances by various local dance studios, martial arts groups and belly dancers.
It will include contests such as the Strawberry Prince and Princess Contest, Strawberry Blonde Contest and Strawberry Cook-Off.
New to the festival this year is the Branch Street Teen Plaza, featuring two teen bands, dance performers, color guards, rock climbing walls and bungee jumping.
Never miss a local story.
The Strawberry Stampede includes a 5K run, a 10K run and a 5K walk and starts at 8 a.m. Sunday. Registration is available at http://www.strawberrystampede.com/ or on the day of the race starting at 6:45 a.m. at Short and Nelson streets.
