The local law enforcement community honored officers who have died in the line of duty at a name-reading ceremony at the Paso Robles Public Safety Center on Wednesday as part of National Police Week.
The names read were of officers who died statewide in the past year.
Among them was Templeton CHP Officer Brett Oswald, who died in June after he was struck by a vehicle in Paso Robles.
Oswald was remembered as a dedicated officer who had served for two decades.
Never miss a local story.
Wednesday’s event began with a caravan of law enforcement vehicles traveling Highway 101 to Paso Robles from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department Templeton station.
