UPDATE | 3:40 p.m. One man has died after two tractors collided on an Edna Valley property Friday afternoon.
The man’s identity has not been released pending notification of his family, said Sheriff’s Cmdr. Brian Hascall.
The department received a report at 12:47 p.m. of the collision on property owned by Pacific Vineyard Company at Los Ranchos Road and Highway 227, near the San Luis Obispo Country Club.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the man, who is an employee of the company, was driving a tractor through the vineyard and was struck by another person driving a larger tractor and grading a road on the property, Hascall said.

The second person’s identity was not available.
According to its website, Pacific Vineyard has been managing premium varietal wine grapes on the Central Coast since planting its first vineyards in 1973. The company currently manages 2,200 acres of vineyards in Edna Valley.

A coroner’s investigator has been dispatched, he said.
