After further investigation, sheriff's deputies determined that the man's stab wound had been self-inflicted. Charges are still pending.
Authorities on Saturday arrested a driver who crashed into a fence overnight in Oceano, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department.
About 2:45 a.m., deputies and Grover Beach Police Department officers found that the driver crashed into a fence in front of a home along Paso Robles Street near 21st Street, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
The driver was drunk, and had suffered a stab wound in a leg, according to authorities.
Investigators learned that the stabbing was done in self-defense during a domestic dispute, authorities said.
The driver was treated at an undisclosed hospital, and the Sheriff’s Department says it plans to file charges with the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Department would not disclose the name of the driver, or of the other person involved in the dispute.
