Critics of proposed state budget cuts to community colleges gathered at the County Government Center to raise awareness of the effects they would have on Cuesta College.
Similar gatherings took place throughout California as part of the Hands Across California event.
Students at Cuesta College will pay more for their education when student fees increase to $36 per unit from $26 in the fall.
The college expects up to an 11 percent cut, which would reduce the number of classes offered.
Never miss a local story.
