The South County Advisory Council — a volunteer organization representing the Nipomo area — has openings for representatives in three areas, according to Election Chairman Mike Eisner.
Eight SCAC members were seated at the March 28 meeting to serve two-year terms ending in 2013. The members are: Vince McCarthy, Dan Gaddis, Elaine Thomas, Dan Woodson, Bill Dorland, El-jay Hansson, Stephanie Franks and Patricia Duron.
The open seats represent three areas: the community within the Nipomo Urban Reserve Line and east of Highway 101; the community within the Nipomo Urban Reserve Line, west of Highway 101, south of West Tefft Street and east of Orchard Road; and the area east of Pomeroy Road, north of Los Berros Road and south of Division Street.
Anyone interested in serving on the council can check the SCAC website for more information at http://scac.ca.gov.
The SCAC is one of 11 advisory councils in San Luis Obispo County recognized by the county Board of Supervisors.
