Burglars have hit a San Luis Obispo business twice in one month, according to police.
On Saturday morning, an employee at Shoesurfing.com at 3595 Sueldo Street reported that burglars broke a window and stole about 350 pairs of shoes and boots valued at more than $50,000, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department.
The circumstances reported are similar to those reported in a March 6 burglary at the same business.
In that burglary, a window was also broken, and about 450 pairs of Ugg boots valued more than $50,000 were stolen from the business in the industrial area southeast of South Higuera Street and Prado Road, according to police.
Meanwhile, earlier on Saturday an employee of Eagles Nest Vending reported that its white 1998 Ford E-150 van was stolen from the business at 3547 S. Higuera St. in San Luis Obispo, police said.
While investigating the earlier burglary at Shoesurfing.com, officers found property belonging to Pacific Coast Kitchen and Bath in San Luis Obispo, whose van was stolen the same day, police said. That led investigators to suspect that the stolen van was used in the crime.
Police say it’s possible that the Eagles Nest Vending van was used in Saturday’s burglary.
The investigation into the earlier burglary and the Pacific Coast Kitchen and Bath van theft continue, police said.
