A pair of roads that wind their way through San Luis Obispo County have been chosen as two of the country’s 15 most scenic by the American Motorcyclist Association.
Highways 1 and 58 were picked among 15 other roads as the fifth and 13th best in the nation by the more than 230,000 members of the nonprofit’s magazine, American Motorcyclist.
“When it comes to the best places in the country to ride motorcycles, no group of riders is more knowledgeable than AMA members,” said Rob Dingman, AMA president and CEO. “No group puts in more miles, samples more asphalt or rides more roads.
Never miss a local story.
“By publicizing our favorite roads in American Motorcyclist magazine, AMA members will seek out these destinations and bring tourism dollars into local communities through the purchase of food, fuel, lodging and more.”
The winners were chosen from 100 candidate roads.
