Galaxy Theatres in Atascadero will be selling popcorn and soda for $1 each during its grand opening this weekend.
The 10-screen theater is in Atascadero’s downtown Colony Square, which has been under construction since November 2009.
The theater will have 3-D capabilities, stadium seating and two VIP screens in a separate lounge. The lounge will sell beer and wine to moviegoers age 21 and older.
The theater opened briefly for San Luis Obispo International Film Festival ticket holders last week. It opens to the general public for the first time Friday.
Tickets will cost:
- $8 before 6 p.m.
- $11 6 p.m. and after
- $8 for senior citizens and for children age 2 to 11
All “D-Box” tickets, for seats that move like a ride, are an additional $8 per ticket. All 3-D shows are an additional $3 per ticket.
For viewers age 21 and older, VIP lounge tickets will cost:
- $10 before 6 p.m.
- $15 at 6 p.m. and after, Friday through Sunday
- $13 at 6 p.m. and after, Monday through Thursday
