An engaged couple from Pismo Beach was the first team to be eliminated from “The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business,” a season starring former contestants.
In Sunday night’s episode, Amanda Blackledge, a 25-year-old admissions representative with Laurus College, and Kris Klicka, a 27-year-old insurance agent, lost valuable time after a U-Turn penalty that required them to perform an extra task.
During elimination, Klicka told the host, Phil Keoghan, “I’m bummed. I really wanted this shot.”
Blackledge and Klicka first appeared on CBS’ popular globe-trotting competition in 2009.
“We’re really fortunate to experience this two times,” Klicka said after Sunday’s elimination, according to “The Amazing Race” website. “I’d do it over again in a heartbeat.”
The couple’s 2009 elimination also came after they were held up by a U-Turn.
Ten teams remain in this year’s competition for $1 million. It airs at 8 p.m. Sundays.
