Beginning tonight through Friday, construction on Highway 101 in Atascadero will take place as part of the continuing Highway 101 rehabilitation project, according to Caltrans.
Paving will take place from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. in both directions from the intersection of Highway 58 and Highway 101 near Santa Margarita to Rosario Avenue in Atascadero. Lane closures may occur on northbound Hwy. 101 until noon.
Work is also scheduled from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. at the Highway101/Highway 41 Interchange to Traffic Way, where motorists can expect delays up to five minutes due to partial closures of the north and southbound on/off-ramps.
Bridge work is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on southbound Hwy. 101 from Hwy. 58 to Santa Margarita Creek.
The Highway 101 Atascadero Rehabilitation Project is now 30 percent done, with completion expected in the spring of 2012. It includes repaving 11 miles of Highway 101 from north of the Cuesta Grade to Traffic Way. The $25.3 million project includes widening of bridges at Santa Margarita Creek, Atascadero Creek and Traffic Way, as well as resurfacing of several on-ramps.
