San Luis Obispo County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a 25-year-old Atascadero man for allegedly burglarizing a neighbor’s house.
Jacob William Johnson, who will turn 26 on Saturday, was arrested after a resident reported being burglarized between 8:30 and 11:30 Tuesday morning. Missing from the unlocked residence was a towel, personal hygiene products, slippers, shirt, pants, prescription medication and a .38 caliber handgun.
Deputies doing a neighborhood canvas noticed a storage trailer on a nearby property in the 12000 block of Salinas Road and contacted Johnson, who lived in the trailer. Deputies observed that he was wearing the shirt, pants and slippers taken during the burglary.
He was arrested for possession of stolen property. Deputies also recovered the stolen handgun.
The investigation continues.
