For the past 10 years, Paul Rys of San Luis Obispo has grown daffodils on his property and given them out as gifts on Valentine’s Day to family, friends and sometimes even strangers.
Rys has thousands of daffodils in 10 different varieties growing throughout his property.
And he doesn’t accept payment for his flowers.
“I don’t want to look at something so beautiful and relate it to money,” he said.
Never miss a local story.
