A vice president at Google will present her talk “Innovation at the Googleplex” on Feb. 24 at Cal Poly, according to university officials.
The presentation by Marissa Mayer, vice president for consumer products, will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in Harman Hall at the Performing Arts Center. The event is free and open to the public.
Mayer will discuss some key insights and innovations behind Google's latest product development, as well as her insights for career success.
Mayer's work includes product management and engineering efforts of Google Maps, Google Maps for Mobile, Local Search, Google Earth, Street View and Latitude.
During her 11 years at Google, and as the company’s first female engineer, Mayer has led product management and design efforts for Google web search, images, news, books, products, toolbar and iGoogle.
