The North County’s Highway 101 repaving project will continue on the northbound lanes this week, affecting a stretch from the Highway 58 junction in Santa Margarita to Rosario Avenue in Atascadero.
Motorists can expect up to five- minute delays through Friday morning, according to Caltrans.
Crews with Papich Construction of Pismo Beach will be working from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. each day with the option for lane closures through noon.
Never miss a local story.
The paving work is expected “to be noisy at times for residents adjacent to the construction area,” Caltrans said.
Slated for completion in spring 2012, the $41.2 million project will repave all the lanes on Highway 101 from north of the Cuesta Grade to Traffic Way in Atascadero.
It will also widen bridges and resurface on- and off-ramps.

Dan Howard-Greene, chief of staff for the Cal Poly president’s office for the past 16 years, will retire Dec. 31.
In a retirement letter to interim President Robert Glidden, Howard-Greene expressed appreciation for the “honor and privilege of serving such a fine university and the opportunity to work with outstanding presidential leadership and an extraordinary university community.”
Glidden praised the staffer.
“Dan is a person of great integrity whose sole interest when confronted with thorny issues has been to do what’s best for the university,” Glidden wrote in an e-mail to Cal Poly staff. “Dan has worked extraordinarily hard for 16 years to provide consistently thoughtful advice to all of us.”
An internal recruitment will begin immediately for an interim chief of staff.

The program will match volunteers with seniors who need support with transportation, light housework, errands, meal preparation, repairs and friendly visits.
An informational presentation discussing the details of the new program will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the San Luis Obispo Veterans Hall, 801 Grand Ave.
