The owner of a Morro Bay liquor store is getting his share of a $135 million lottery jackpot. Chuck Harper, the owner of Bottle Liquor and Deli, received a $675,000 jackpot bonus Tuesday from the California Lottery. His business sold the winning Mega Millions lottery ticket Aug. 27. It’s the largest lottery win ever for San Luis Obispo County. So far, no one has stepped forward to officially claim the prize, which could be paid out in a $92.4 million lump sum or 26 annual payments. The winning ticket is valid for a year. In the meantime, Bottle Liquor is reaping the rewards. “Sales have increased considerably since we sold the winning lottery ticket,” Harper said in a California Lottery news release. “This win has really paid off for us. Now we can make improvements and upgrade the front of our store.” Here, Harper, left, receives his check from lottery representatives Cameron Kay and Wendi Doyan.
