Elementary school students around the county will receive school supplies as part of the Stuff the Bus campaign coordinated by the United Way of San Luis Obispo County.
Thanks to community donations in the South County, three school buses were filled with new school supplies for local elementary students, including pens, pencils, crayons, art supplies, binders and backpacks.
The items were delivered Monday to students at Oceano, Grover Beach and Nipomo elementary schools. The principals at those schools will determine which students receive the supplies based on input from their staff, Lucia Mar Unified School District Superintendent Jim Hogeboom said.
Supplies collected in San Luis Obispo and in the North County will be distributed to schools in those areas later this week, according to United Way staff.
Never miss a local story.
