Motorists traveling in both directions on Highway 46 East can expect up to 30-minute delays just east of Shandon today through Thursday as the highway undergoes repairs.
The work is being done from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. The project, stretching along the highway from Lucy Brown to Palo Prieta roads, will detour motorists into one-way reverse traffic controls while crews work to prolong the life of the asphalt.
Electronic message boards are posted to alert motorists of the detour.
The $400,000 project is contracted to Valley Slurry Seal Co. in Sacramento. It's expected to be completed in September.
