Two transients were arrested after allegedly raping a woman in Oceano last weekend.
A 28-year-old Fresno woman was waiting for her family at Pier Liquor on the afternoon of March 20 when a woman befriended her and led her to the rear of the store, where people were drinking.
When the victim later attempted to go to a nearby bathroom, the two transients allegedly accosted and then raped her, according to the Sheriff's Department.
Jonathon Charles Rodrigues, 46, and Paul Cervantez Ramos, 38, were arrested Monday and Wednesday, respectively, and taken to County Jail, where bail was set at $100,000 each. Both remained in jail as of Thursday afternoon.
Rodrigues is a registered sex offender and is on the Megan's Law website.
Detectives know the identity of the woman who initially befriended the victim, but have not yet interviewed her to see if she was involved in the crime.
