Police said they arrested a Morro Bay woman and a teen after a search of their home in the northern part of the city reportedly turned up stolen property and drug paraphernalia on Friday afternoon.
Christa Orndoff, 45, was booked into County Jail on suspicion of child endangerment and maintaining a house where drugs are used or distributed, according to the Morro Bay Police Department.
Officers also took into custody a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of burglary and possessing stolen property, police said. He is being held at the county Juvenile Services Center.
Police did not say whether he is related to Orndoff.
Never miss a local story.
Just after 1 p.m., Morro Bay officers and county sheriff’s deputies searched their home on the 400 block of Java Street based on information obtained in an ongoing investigation, according to police.
The search turned up drug paraphernalia and an estimated $3,000 worth of stolen tools and electronics, police said.
The purportedly stolen items are believed to be from what police described as a recent surge in thefts from vehicles in Morro Bay and other parts of San Luis Obispo County.
