A group of cyclists raising awareness of childhood cancer will ride through San Luis Obispo County in October.
Pablove Across America will ride 500 miles from Hollywood to San Francisco from Oct. 5 through Oct. 11. The group was created to "fight childhood cancer with love, one pedal stroke at a time," according to a news release.
Jo Ann Thrailkill and Jeff Castelaz, co-founder and president of Elektra Records, created the Pablove Foundation to invest in pediatric cancer research and improve the lives of children living with cancer, after their son lost his battle with cancer at the age of 6.
The group will ride 72 miles from Solvang to Pismo Beach on Oct. 7. They are scheduled to leave from Pismo Beach Lighthouse Suites at 8 a.m. on Oct. 8, after a brief ceremony. The group will then ride to Cambria, stay overnight, and leave for Monterey on Oct. 9.
