A power outage caused by a large portion of a tree falling onto a power line Sunday afternoon affected 277 customers in Santa Margarita.
PG&E spokesman J.D. Guidi said that the power outage began at 2:19 p.m. and is affecting customers on F Street through K Street.
The outage originated on F Street near the intersection of Yerba Buena Avenue, where part of a tree broke off and fell onto the power line, causing the pole to break.
Guidi said that although the pole isn’t down, it needs to be replaced, along with wires that are down.

An electrical troubleshooter assessed the situation and called in crews to make repairs.
Guidi said that power would not be restored to all customers until repairs are complete, and did not give an estimated time for restoration.
