The Rios-Caledonia Adobe in San Miguel has reopened after being closed for nine weeks to complete a mandated earthquake retrofit. During that time, the San Luis Obispo County parks department also did necessary outside improvements.
The dust has been cleared, and the gift shop and museum at 700 Mission St. are welcoming visitors again.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The Friends of the Adobes was founded originally to help restore the abandoned building, and they maintain both the Caledonia and the Estrella Adobe Church on Airport Road. New members are always welcome. For information, or to schedule tours or an event at either place, call Joyce Herman at 467-3357.
