The second of three public workshops seeking community feedback to improve Highway 41's corridor through Atascadero is planned for next week.
The public is invited to attend the session planned for 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 2 at the Pavilion on the Lake, 9315 Pismo Ave.
The city of Atascadero is spearheading the outreach effort to improve the popular thoroughfare for vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians as part of the multiagency Highway 41 Corridor Improvement Study. The corridor being reviewed covers the west-side portion of Highway 41 that runs from El Camino Real to San Gabriel Road.
Caltrans is planning disabled-access improvements for the corridor in the next few years, and the city took the lead on public outreach to help shape that plan.
Never miss a local story.
The Sept. 2 workshop will look to refine the vision statement, to examine alternative corridor configurations based on input, and to seek comments about various cross-sections along the corridor, according to a city news release.
