The Los Osos Community Services District, in cooperation with Cal Fire Station 15 in the South Bay, is looking to hire a minimum of six reserve firefighters by year’s end, a Cal Fire spokeswoman said Tuesday.
Reserve firefighters are expected to cover two 12-hour shifts per month, attend required training and respond to emergency calls at the South Bay station.
In order to qualify, applications must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. on Nov. 17, along with presentation of a valid form of identification, a Social Security card and a DMV report dated within 30 days. Applications and further information can be obtained at the station, 2315 Bayview Heights Drive in Los Osos, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Should an application be accepted, the hiring process will consist of a physical ability test tentatively scheduled to be held at the station at 8 a.m. on Nov. 22, followed by oral interviews, tentatively set for Nov. 23. The final step will include a background check and successful completion of a pre-employment physical.
