The San Miguel Library has made a small change in its schedule: Starting this week, it’s open on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursdays from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Old Timers Picnic from noon to 3 p.m. in San Miguel Park on K Street. The chicken BBQ is $12 per plate; people over 80 years old eat for free. Meet and greet this year’s Pioneer Day Royalty.
Wednesday: The San Miguel Advisory Council meets at 7 p.m. at the Community Building in the park. Current board members are Michael Sanders, John McClure, Jean Hoffmann, Steve Christian, Kallie Johnson and Victor Kunze. Alternates are Dale Hamblin and Sharon Bower.
Thursday: The San Miguel CSD board meets at 7 p.m. in the CSD office at 1150 Mission St. Current board members are Larry Reuck, John Green, Anthony Kalvans, Gib Buckman and Travis Dawes.
Baskets on loan
Mission San Antonio has loaned a major collection of Native American baskets to the University of San Francisco for an exhibition titled “INTERWOVEN: Native California Basketry Arts from the Missions Forward.”
The exhibit will run from Aug. 24 through Nov. 1 at Thatcher Gallery in the Gleeson Library/Gaschke Center at 2130 Fulton at Parker at USF. For information about Mission San Antonio, contact administrator Joan Steele at 831-385-4478 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
