On Saturday, the Old Mission San Miguel Busy Bees will host its monthly bingo at the Parish Hall (behind Mission San Miguel Arcángel). Early fun games start at 12:30 p.m., and regular games begin at 2 p.m. Enjoy lunch for a nominal charge and complimentary desserts.
On Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the family and friends of David Duckworth will gather at the Community Building in the park to share memories and a potluck lunch.
David passed away July 10, following a long illness, leaving his wife, Robin, and his sons Kevin, Nathan and David.

Frontier Communications has applied to the California Public Utilities Commission to buy Verizon’s landlines in the state, which may affect service rates, installation fees, call features and other aspects of telephone use in San Miguel and Parkfield.
The PUC is set to have a public hearing Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 5:30 p.m. at the Santa Barbara County Administration Building, 105 Anapamu St. in Santa Barbara in the board hearing room on the fourth floor.
