The northbound onramp at Highway 101 and Los Osos Valley Road will close Monday and possibly Tuesday nights for re-striping and other work, according to San Luis Obispo officials.
Project Manager Jason Bennecke said the onramp could close as early as 8 p.m. and would reopen by 6 a.m. In addition, the fast lanes of the highway in both directions will be closed for guardrail upgrades to accommodate new bridge columns.
Work is ongoing to improve the Los Osos Valley Road/Highway 101 interchange. The project will widen Los Osos Valley Road to four lanes from the Calle Joaquin intersection to South Higuera Street.
Crews temporarily closed the southbound onramp about 10:30 p.m. Sunday night because water from the weekend thunderstorm was crossing the ramp, Bennecke said. It was reopened sometime between 9 and 10 a.m. Monday.
In August, the current southbound offramp will close and traffic will be diverted to a temporary offramp for about four to six months as work continues on the project.
