Cal Poly’s Orfalea College of Business will host a summit in February that aims to showcase how companies and institutions can minimize waste as they make quality products.
The event, themed “Frontliners Engaged in Problem Solving,” will be held Feb. 19 and 20 in the university’s Performing Arts Center. The first day is a pre-summit workshop that provides an interactive practice of real workplace situations, applying specific “Lean Six Sigma” concepts.
The second day — the summit — includes a variety of speakers and workshops to generate ideas from local leaders on how best to manage “lean” strategies. The concept applies to health care, manufacturing, law enforcement, higher education and other industries.
Registration costs $280 for one day and $530 for both days.
