Morro Bay’s Chamber of Commerce will reflect on 50 years as an incorporated city at its installation dinner Friday.
The event, titled “50th Year in Review,” will be at 5 p.m. at the Morro Bay Community Center at 1001 Kennedy Way.
The chamber is partnering with Morro Bay 50th group to recap the year that marked the city’s milestone.
Event highlights include awards honoring the 2014 Citizen and Business of the Year, as well as the annual Living Treasure Award honoring the businesses and residents that help make Morro Bay unique. The event is being catered by Distasio’s on the Bay Italian restaurant.
Never miss a local story.
Auctions will help raise money to fund the sculpture “For Those Who Wait,” to be installed at the harbor entrance. That project is being coordinated by the Central Coast Women for Fisheries.
Tickets are $50 per person, and seating is limited. For information, call the Morro Bay Chamber of Commerce at 772-4467 or http://www.morrobay50th.com.
