Get ready to get wild: Buffalo Wild Wings, a Columbus, Ohio-based restaurant chain, is set to open in San Luis Obispo by the end of October.
The sports bar-style restaurant chain will take over the former Taco Bell building at 309 Madonna Road in the SLO Promenade, said Jon Gotreau, regional marketing manager for Buffalo Wild Wings. The new location comes as part of a company effort to expand more onto the West Coast, he said.
“SLO has thousands of people who we feel would like the Buffalo Wild Wings brand,” Gotreau said. “We’re excited to grow into the area.”
Construction on the 6,850-square-foot space is underway, and Gotreau said the company has begun the hiring process for the restaurant; it aims to hire about 100 workers, ranging from cooks to servers.
Buffalo Wild Wings Inc. operates 1,025 stores worldwide, according to its website. It reported revenues of $688 million for the first six months of 2014, up 20.8 percent from the same period in 2013.
