Correction: An earlier version of this story had an incorrect name for the concert promoter.
The Vina Robles Amphitheatre has a new promoter for its annual summer concert series — the same one that books and produces concerts at mid-size venues such as the Santa Barbara Bowl and the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles.
Nederlander Concerts of Los Angeles has entered into a partnership with the 3,300-seat concert venue, which completed its inaugural season in November.
The winery decided to switch from its previous promoter, AEG Music, because Nederlander had more experience with smaller venues, said Simone Michel, director of customer relations and marketing at Vina Robles.
“It will really help to improve the quality of artists we attract to the venue,” she said.
With the new promoter, Vina Robles will host 18 concerts between April 1 and Nov. 30, Michel said. Last year it hosted 21: 20 with AEG and one with Sunset Savor the Central Coast, a four-day celebration of food and wine.
Last season’s performers included Bonnie Raitt, Darius Rucker, Peter Frampton with BB King, George Lopez, John Fogerty and Tony Bennett, with more than 32,000 tickets sold in the entire season.
The lineup for this year’s Vina Robles Amphitheatre concerts will be announced in April.
