Linson Signs, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, has moved to a 3,200-square-foot location at 3621 Sacramento St. #1 in San Luis Obispo that’s three times its previous size.
The family-owned business creates a wide range of signs, small to large — including street, building, neon, window and monument signs as well as vehicle wraps, which are a partial or complete application of specialized vinyl to change the color or transform a vehicle into a business advertisement.
The business expansion allows the firm to create all of its signs and vehicle wraps indoors.
Frank Linson, who owns the business, works with his son Kevin, stepson Jason Smith and wife Karen. He started the firm in 1964 in Bishop and worked 29 years there before moving to San Luis Obispo and buying the John Allen sign shop.
The firm declined to disclose annual sales but said sales have increased 15 percent each of the last two years.
