UPDATE: The deadline to apply to the third annual TechPitch has been extended to midnight Oct. 7.
Original story: The Cal Poly Small Business Development Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Softec, the Economic Vitality Corporation and the Business & Entrepreneurship Center at Cuesta College are asking all local startups to apply for their third annual TechPitch competition.
To qualify, applicants must be a seed or early-stage startup — defined as having less than $2 million in investment and no more than $1 million in annual revenue, according to a news release.
Once selected, eight qualified applicants will pitch their technology-related business ideas to a panel of industry experts Oct. 23 at an event in the Alex Madonna Expo Center. The winner will receive follow-up services, contacts and opportunities from affiliate organizations to help grow their startups.
To enter, entrepreneurs should apply at techpitch.org and submit an executive summary of their business plans before midnight Sept. 25.
